Two Kuttawa residents were arrested on drug possession charges following a welfare check by local deputies at a local retailer over the weekend.
Around 4:40 Sunday afternoon, Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman says deputies were sent to check on two people who were asleep in their car in the Walmart parking lot. After an investigation, 33–year–old Cody Traylor and 26–year–old Courtney Day were both taken into custody by Deputy Kenneth Vincent and charged with first–degree possession of a controlled substance 1st offense – drug unspecified and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were then lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. Deputy Vincent was assisted on the scene by Deputy Stacey Blackburn.
