The Caldwell County Middle School Junior Beta Club inducted 54 new members Monday night at the Fine Arts Building at the high school.
Students must have a GPA of 85 percent or more to be invited to join the Club which is similar to the National Honor Society at the high school level.
Beta Club officers each lit a candle and gave a challenge to the prospective new members followed by the New Member Pledge. The candidates then stood and raised their hands and accepted the invitation to become official members. The new members then entered the stage and were given membership pins and certificates.
Awards were given to the winners of the recent state competitions and other participants were recognized. The ceremony was adjourned with a closing prayer.
