The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced Wednesday that a section of KY 135/Carrsville Road has reopened north of the Hampton community in Livingston County.
Carrsville Road had been closed at the 3.3 mile marker since Monday when a KYTC inspector discovered a void under the roadway at the north end of the Bayou Creek Branch Bridge.
Spokesman Keith Todd reported the District 1 Bridge Crew evaluated the hole and developed a repair plan. He says engineers were able to block off teh bottom of the hole and fill the void with flowable fill on Tuesday, with the concrete material requiring about 24 hours to cure.
He indicates Carrsville Road reopened to traffic between Hampton and Joy at 9:30 Wednesday morning.
