Madisonville police have charged a man with murder in connection to a shooting at an apartment complex over the weekend.
Upon arriving at Cross Creek Apartments in response to multiple 911 calls reporting possible shots fired, Madisonville Police say officers discovered 27-year-old Terrence Minor had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest at approximately 3:10 p.m. on Sunday.
While on the scene, officers reportedly spoke with a female tenant of the apartment who stated she and Minor had recently separated and had one child together. Police say the tenant stated that Minor showed up at her residence requesting to speak with her and was shot shortly after entering the apartment.
Upon further investigation, detectives interviewed 21-year old Raleigh Lamar who reportedly confessed to firing the gun that led to Minor’s death. Additionally, police say detectives found that the weapon used in the crime had been removed from the scene before their arrival; 20-year old Quortez Greenwood told investigators that he had taken the firearm and hidden it in his home in an effort to help his friend.
Lamar was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and Greenwood was taken into custody and charged with tampering with physical evidence. Both men were lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
