This past Saturday afternoon proved to be a pretty special day for the Caldwell County Animal Shelter.
Thanks to the Princeton Sonic Drive-In, Anne Bannister and Safe Haven — a 501 (c)(3) animal-related non-profit, also in Princeton — were able to deliver 50 “pup cups” of vanilla ice cream to the young dogs in the shelter.
Furthermore, Trigg County’s 4-H Club, under the leadership of Shelley Crawford, were able to pay a visit as volunteers — spending time with several “shelter babies” by taking them on walks while assisting with several shelter daily duties.
The shelter still has a long list of needs through its online Amazon Wish List — including wishbones, laundry detergent, comfortable crates, pet blankets, chew toys, dog food and cat food — but Saturday’s efforts went a long way to bringing some joy on the scene.
Open from 10-2 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the Caldwell County Animal Shelter is located at 489 Baker Hill Road in Princeton, and can be reached by phone at (270) 365-1000, or by email at CCAS42445@gmail.com.
