The Special Olympic Basketball teams from Caldwell County finished their season at the state competition in Louisville over the weekend.
Caldwell was able to send two teams and cheerleaders to compete but to also enjoy the activities provided as part of the tournament. Coordinator Vickie Purcell is proud of the athletes and feels it is great to be able to send two teams to compete.

Now that basketball is finished they have begun practicing for the track season. There was a good number to turn out for the first practice Monday even with the weather being cold.
click to download audioPurcell thanks the community for the support shown to Special Olympics and shared that everyone had a great experience over the weekend both on and off the court. The first competition for the track team will be on April 22nd in Marshall County.
