Caldwell Deputy Sheriff Completes Academy Training

A Caldwell County deputy sheriff was one of 31 graduates Thursday at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training’s police academy.
Ashley Copeland completed the 20-week police academy that covers patrol procedures, physical training, vehicle operations, defensive tactics, criminal law, traffic and DUI, firearms, criminal investigations, cultural awareness, bias-related crimes, and tactical responses to crisis situations.
The class was the 536th academy class to graduate from the Department of Criminal Training.
Copeland will undergo field training at the sheriff’s office before beginning solo patrol.
