Caldwell Career Center Students Attend State HOSA Conference


The Caldwell Regional Career Center Health services students attended the state HOSA Convention in Louisville and returned with 3 students qualifying to move on to the international competition.
The Health Occupations Students of America is a national organization helping prepare students to enter the health care profession. Students and Sponsors from the local club made the trip to meet with and compete with over 1600 students from across Kentucky.
Sponsor Lori Conway explained the students had to qualify to compete in the state competition and then had another contest while there to move on to the next level.

Brown was excited to have students from the local club advance to higher stages of competition during the conference.


click to download audioAddison Fish was one of the 1st place winners and explained she had to pick a topic, write an essay about her topic and then memorize and present a speech to present her topic to the judges. She is now looking forward to the International competition.

click to download audioThe local club is now preparing to attend the international convention to be held in Texas in June which will have students from 24 countries attending. They are hoping to take some senior members along with the 3 that won at the state level and will be fundraising to help cover expenses.
