Stallins Named City-County Park Director

The City-County Park Board has hired an educator and former coach to fill the director’s position.
Mayor Brock Thomas — and a member of the board— tells Your News Edge there were five applicants that applied for the position and three were interviewed Monday night after two of the applicants found full time  jobs. .After the interviews, he says the board met again Wednesday and voted to hire Stephanie Stallins.

click to download audioAccording to Mayor Thomas, the board will set her salary at the next meeting which ranges between $24,000 to $35,000.
He’s hopeful she can start in the position as soon as possible in order to get lifeguards and employees in place for the City-County Park. He says they are currently taking applications for summer employment, which can be picked up at either City Hall or the Guidance Office at Caldwell County High School.
At a special called meeting at the beginning of February, members of the City-County Park Board voted to create an executive director park position to oversee the park on Baker Hill Road.
