All eyes are turning to the severe weather threat expected across the region Friday afternoon into the evening hours.
Justin Gibbs, the lead forecaster at the National Weather Service in Paducah, says after a chance for storms Thursday night into early Friday morning, storm instability could begin to build.

Gibbs adds the main severe weather threat will be tornadoes and damaging wind gusts and to be prepared for weather warnings after 4:00 PM Friday.

The biggest chance for tornadoes will be between 4:00 and 7:00 Friday, with some still possible after dark.

Wind gusts from the south could reach up to 40 MPH at times outside of thunderstorms. Gibbs says there is also a possibility for severe weather next week, between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.
Your Weather Edge will provide reports on-air and online for both events.
