Gerry Finley, 100, of Princeton

Funeral services for 100-year old Gerry P. Finley, of Princeton, will be Thursday afternoon, April 13, at 1:00 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.
Burial will follow in the Lamasco Church Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 Thursday morning, April 13.
Finley passed away Sunday, April 10, 2023 in Hopkinsville and had lived in Princeton since 1974. She was born March 20, 1923 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Joseph T. Pentecost and the late, Nellie Merville Grinnell. She was bookkeeper for the family farm. While attending the Nashville Business College in Nashville Tennessee, she was selected to attend the officer’s club ballroom dances at Ft. Campbell in Clarksville, TN because of her excellent dancing skills and vibrant personality. The late, Robert Chester Finley, Jr. was her beloved husband of 61 years. Together they had a son, the late, James “Jim” Robert Finley, grandchildren, Ashley (Derek) Wallace and the late, Taylor Finley; great grandchildren, Presley, Ella and Sawyer Wallace and the late, Wyatt and Waylon Wallace. She cherished her family, loved dancing, was a member of the Elks Lodge, Princeton Country Club, Princeton Art Guild and Kentucky Farm Bureau. She was member of Ogden United Methodist Church where she attended the Growing Edge Sunday School class.
In addition to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren she is survived by her sister, Anne G. Trent of Knoxville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Danita Finley and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl and Joseph Pentecost, and step-father, Taylor Maxwell Grinnell.
