Funeral services for 63-year old Michael Clayton, of Princeton, will be Friday afternoon, April 14, at 2:00 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.
Burial will follow in Tirzah Cemetery in Webster County.
Visitation will begin at noon Friday, April 14.
Mike Clayton passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at his home.
He was born on December 23, 1959 in Madisonville, KY to the late Raymond and Katherine Teague Clayton. Mike lived for nature, competition, his family, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Every day, Mike worked hard to provide opportunities for his kids and help farmers from his home state of Kentucky all the way to the Middle East as they enhanced their farmland. Mike dedicated nearly 40 years to the United States Department of Agriculture. Mike adored his grandkids and was intentional to build and do fun things with them from tractor & gator rides, and Legos, to swingsets. Mike was known as a prankster and an avid runner. He loved watching movies while eating ice cream, cultivating beautiful flowers on his farm, and hosting an annual family fall fest. Above all, Mike was always on the move, never taking time for granted. His family is celebrating that he is with his Lord in heaven.
Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen Hayes Clayton; four daughters, Cassie Clayton of Dallas, TX, Katie (Joshua) Shirley of Carrollton, VA, Anna (Andrew) Clayton-McCarron of Nashville, TN, Mary Beth (Jonathan) Becker of Jackson, MS; one son, Ben (Brittany) Clayton of Williamsburg, KY; one sister, Judy (Darrell) Cole of Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren, Benaiah Clayton, Berek Clayton, Brooke Clayton, Jocelyn Shirley, Abigail Shirley, Aiden Shirley and Adeline Becker; two sister in laws, Judy Clayton of Dixon, KY and Mary Anne Clayton of Charleston, MO.
In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Rodney Clayton; one sister Nancy Kay Clayton.
