Shoppers in Princeton may have noticed that a retail store that opened almost two years ago is undergoing a name change. According to multiple media reports, the Florida-based company, Bealls Outlet and Burkes Outlet, are uniting 600 stores in 23 states to become “bealls”.
PRWeb reports the change from Burkes to bealls was made possible when Bealls Inc. purchased the national name rights to “Bealls” in 2020 from Stage Stores, Inc. Company officials reportedly felt that the Outlet name is dated and can lead to misconceptions about the origin and quality of their merchandise.
It’s reported that all stores are scheduled to see their signs changed with the rebranding completed by the end of this year. According to PRWeb, Bealls Inc. has experienced steady growth at a time when many retailers have struggled. In the past two and a half years, reports indicate Bealls Inc. has added over 150 store locations.
The retail store in Princeton, located at 300 U.S. 62 West, officially opened its doors in July 2021 with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Caldwell County Chamber of Commerce.
Headquartered in Bradenton, Florida since 1915, Bealls Inc. is a privately held company that has been owned and operated by the founding family for over 100 years.
