A Caldwell County man was charged with his second DUI after a non-injury collision in Princeton over the weekend.
According to Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison, officers responded to North Seminary Street shortly before 9:30 Saturday night where it was reported one of the vehicles involved in the collision had left the scene.
When officers arrived at the scene, Allision says they made contact with 38-year old Channing Gray, of Princeton, who told officers that he drove his vehicle home after the wreck and walked back to the scene.
An investigation reportedly revealed that Gray was traveling south on North Seminary Street when he ran off the left side of the roadway into a field and then came back into the roadway where he struck the rear passenger side of a car driven by 59-year old Regina Wadlington, of Princeton.
Allison says Gray was taken into custody after a field sobriety test determined he was under the influence of intoxicants. He was charged with DUI 2nd offense and lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
