Members of Caldwell County Youth, Incorporated are inviting everyone to come out to Ratliff Park Saturday for the Opening Day Jamboree and a special dedication.
At noon Saturday, Youth, Inc. will like the field full of the community, teams and neighboring counties for a special dedication for the late Dewight Meeks.
Softball and baseball Director Misty Porter announced last month that they are dedicating this season in memory of Meeks.

click to download audioMeeks served as president of Caldwell County Youth, Incorporated, and coached hundreds of kids over the years along with serving as commissioner. He passed away in January at the age of 66 after a battle with cancer.
Youth, Inc. officials say the Opening Day Jamboree games will begin at 9:00 Saturday morning, on three fields, featuring a total of 12 softball and baseball games. In the event of rain, the games may be canceled, but officials say the dedication ceremony will still be held at noon.
