Cameron, Beshear Carry Governor’s Race In Caldwell County

Caldwell County voters made their voices heard in the May Primary Election with votes following winners seen statewide.
In the race for Governor, out of 393 voters voting on the Democratic ticket, 81 percent of the vote went to current Governor Andy Beshear. On the Republican side, 817 residents cast a ballot, and current Attorney General Daniel Cameron received 50 percent of the vote.
With 743 votes cast in the Secretary of State race in Caldwell County, current SOS Michael Adams received 65 percent of the vote, while Stephen Knipper received 30 percent on the Republican ticket.
Allison Ball received 77 percent of the 741 votes for the Auditor of Public Accounts race in the county, and Mark Metcalfe received 54 percent of the 719 votes cast in the Republican State Treasurer’s race.
For the Commissioner of Agriculture’s race, Richard Heath received 63 percent of the votes cast in the Republican primary. While Sierra Enlow received 51 percent of the 365 votes cast on the Democratic ticket.
Of the 9,908 registered voters in Caldwell County, 1,223 voters cast a ballot for the election, with a turnout of 12.34 percent.
Caldwell County Clerk Jennifer Watson-Hale told Your News Edge there were no issues reported during the May Primary Election. The November General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, with no special elections expected in the county.
