Caldwell County Class Of 2023 Graduates

The senior class of Caldwell County High School became graduates of the local school system during the Commencement Ceremony held Friday night at the Community Activities Building.
Family and friends gathered and filled the local gymnasium to watch around 120 students walk across the stage and officially be declared graduates.
The graduation ceremony was initially planned to be held at the Tiger Football Stadium but was moved to the CAB due to the weather forecast. Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach said before the program began it was the right decision to move inside and the seniors were ready to graduate.

Anna Ray serves on the local school board and has also been a teacher in the system. She shared the board enjoys watching the accomplishments of the students and staff at graduation. She added as a teacher she wasn’t aware of everything the board did, but since joining the board she realized over the years Caldwell has had both good boards and teachers.

The program began with the high school staff leading the seniors into the gym while the high school band played Pomp and Circumstance. The invocation was given by Senior Cannon Littlejohn.
Valedictorian addresses were given by Rachel McClung, Clara Ortt, Kelly James, Michaelyn Sample, Sydney McKinney, Laken White, and Anna Hughes. Caldwell County High School Principal Aaron McClung then presented the Class of 2023 to the Superintendent and school board.

Members of the Caldwell County Board of Education presented diplomas to the soon-to-be graduates as the administration called out their names as they crossed the stage.
Dr. Roach then declared the candidates’ official graduates of the Caldwell County School System and instructed them to move their tassels.

The high school faculty alumni led in the singing of the Alma Mater and the ceremony ended with the traditional tossing of the graduate’s hats.
