Interstate 24 East is restricted to one lane near the 41-mile marker in Lyon County where a sinkhole has developed near the shoulder of the roadway.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports the lane restriction is just east of the US 62 Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40 interchange.
The restriction is likely to remain in place through Monday or Tuesday, so engineers have time to develop a repair plan and deliver equipment to the site.
