Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman is asking the community to join him in praying for the family of a Scott County, Kentucky sheriff’s deputy killed in the line of duty Monday.
During Tuesday mornings fiscal court meeting, Sheriff Weedman told the court the deputy, 35-year-old Caleb Conley, was killed during a traffic stop on I-75 at mile marker 127.
LEX18 reported that 45-year-old Steven Sheangshang, is facing charges of murder of a police officer, possession of handgun by convicted felon, burglary, theft by unlawful taking of automobile, wanton endangerment first degree, and fleeing or evading police first degree.
Deputy Conley served in the US Army for eight years and was employed with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office for four years. He leaves behind a wife and small children.
