A group of New York volunteers will be among those making a trip to Dawson Springs this summer to provide disaster relief following the December 2021 EF-4 tornado.
According to WKTV, ten disaster relief volunteers from the three Presbyterian churches from central and northern portions of New York will make up the team heading to our region.
Many of the volunteers were affected or knew someone affected, by an EF-1 tornado that ripped through Westernville, New York in July 2021, causing severe widespread damage.
Pastor Greg Jenkins of the Lowville Presbyterian Church said they will be able to do any work from drywall and painting, to fixing siding and windows. He added there will also be people working on decks and landscaping.
The disaster relief team will head to the Commonwealth on July 6th and return home on July 16th.
