During a visit Tuesday in Guthrie to celebrate water improvements, Governor Andy Beshear told Your News Edge that additional infrastructure improvements are coming to the Commonwealth.
Governor Beshear said one of those included more funding to continue rolling out internet services to underserved areas.
click to download audioThe next round of funding for internet expansion comes after last year’s “Better Internet” plan rolled out by the Governor. Around $13.8 million in funding was given to Pennyrile Rural Electric Cooperative, which is working with Hopkinsville Electric System and energynet to expand services.
More than $27.9 million will be spent to provide service to nearly 5,600 households and businesses in Caldwell, Christian, Lyon, Todd, and Trigg counties.
