Lyon County Wrecks See Drivers Leave the Scene

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated a pair of traffic crashes Sunday that saw the driver leave the scene in both cases.
Sheriff Brent White said he was called to a business on Days Inn Drive Sunday afternoon for a hit and run. Sheriff White said he located the vehicle involved at a residence on Kentucky 810 North. Following an investigation, 34-year-old Tiffany Hearod of Kuttawa was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, possession of a canceled operator’s license, and resisting arrest.
Later Sunday, Sheriff White and Eddyville Police Officer Josh Travis responded to a single-vehicle wreck on Elkhorn Tavern Road. The investigation revealed a vehicle was eastbound when the driver was driving too fast for
the conditions and failed to negotiate a curve. The car left the road, hit an embankment, and collided with a tree. The driver left the scene prior to police arriving on the scene.
On Monday, the driver — 48-year-old Michael Peek of Eddyville — turned himself in to the sheriff’s department. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
