T-Mobile announced Princeton as one of its latest 25 Hometown Grant recipients Tuesday.
A $50,000 grant will go toward renovating the second floor of the George Coon Public Library, making enhancements for children and teens to enjoy, while also creating a multifunctional space, filling a community need after recent tornado damage.
Director Nichelle Faughn said this renovation project means a lot to her.
Dean Hughes, chairman of the library’s board, said the future is looking bright for the facility.
Kaleb Jarrett, floor manager of the Princeton T-Mobile, said the renovations would open up many opportunities for Caldwell County youth.
David Lewis, general manager of the Princeton store, added other local non-profits could apply to receive funds from the Hometown Grant program.
In Kentucky, four communities have benefitted from nearly $75,000 in funding, meanwhile, almost $9 million has been given to 200 communities across 42 states.
