Mark “Catfish” Smith, age 24, of Eddyville, passed away July 3, 2023 at Caldwell Medical Center.
Mark was born August 15, 1998 to Mark Smith, Sr. of Eddyville and Gloria Jean (Don) Reynolds Hall of Illinois. Mark was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman and he was good at everything he did. He had a kindness and patience about him, especially while teaching his nieces and nephews. He was always willing and loved to help others. He was adored by his family, especially his son, Remington. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include parents Mark Smith, Sr. of Eddyville and Gloria Jean (Don) Reynolds Hall of Illinois, wife, Danielle Smith of Eddyville; son, Remington Clyde Smith; sisters, Megan (Jonathan) Curtis of Sullivan, KY, Katie (Dylan Fulkerson) Hadsall of Marion, IL, and Haley (Brandon) Monical of Dunlap, IL; Jacklynn (Bryan) Atterberry; in-laws, Duane and Anna Phelps of Fredonia; several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Bill and Mary Reynolds of Galatia, IL; paternal grandparents, Clyde and Muriel Smith of Momence, IL; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Bro. Justin Ramey officiating. Burial will follow at Asher Cemetery in Caldwell County.
