Caldwell County FFA Attends Camp

The Caldwell County FFA Chapter is spending the week at the Kentucky FFA Leadership Training Center in Hardinsburg.
While there they are being trained to lead their local chapter for the upcoming year and learning the roles and responsibilities of the office they hold.
The day at camp begins with breakfast at 7:00 AM, followed by the raising of the American Flag. They then attend classes for their individual offices and have time for each chapter to meet together plus options for other classes.
That’s before lunch, then they attend two different workshops and participate in activity time before dinner. Following the meal, they have the flag lowering then attend the night session before holding another chapter hour and then they are dismissed to go to the athletic fields before being called to their cabins with lights out at 11:00 PM.
Caldwell County FFA Advisor Magen Woods has already seen growth of the 14 students that are attending the camp from the Caldwell County High School.

click to download audioAdvisor Woods added that this is just the beginning of the year for the local FFA chapter. When the group returns from camp, it’s full steam ahead as they will be preparing for other activities, long before classes start up again next month.

The Kentucky FFA Leadership Center where the camp is held was built in 1937 and has been training students ever since.
