Alfred Bailey Harper, age 83 of Fredonia, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at his home.
Alfred was born on January 21, 1940, in Caldwell County to the late James Bailey and Lucy Edith Campbell Harper. Alfred was a general construction contractor and was known for his home building. He loved woodworking and building pieces for his family. He was a farmer and enjoyed the outdoors, and time spent on his farm and with his horses. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with them. Alfred never passed up the opportunity for a conversation. Alfred was a member and elder at Good Spring Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Alfred is survived by his wife of almost sixty-five years, Justine Goodaker Harper; three daughters, Sandy (Mike) Stephens of Princeton, Susie (Dixon) Taylor of Princeton, and Joanie (Anthony) Rowland of Fredonia; eight grandchildren, Rachel (James) Chandler, Ryan (Emily) Stephens, Daniel Taylor, Will Taylor, Sarah Bowman, Chris Stephens, Lindsay Bard, Leslie Brown; five great-grandchildren, Jack, Wes, Maxx, Lincoln and Beau.
In addition to his parents, Alfred is preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Green Faucette, and Shirley Jean Cherry.
Visitation for Alfred Harper will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM with Bro. Lester Watson and Bro. Ronnie Hooks. Burial will follow at Asher Cemetery in Caldwell County.
