A Heat Advisory remains in effect until 7:00 Saturday night across western Kentucky with a chance for showers and storms by late afternoon.
Officials with the National Weather Service in Paducah said temperatures are expected to top out around 97 degrees with heat indices peaking around 110. They added if you must spend time outside to take precautions and to drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks.
Some relief may come with cloud cover and afternoon chances of showers and storms. They should ramp up between 4:00 PM and Midnight and some of them could become severe. If severe storms form, damaging winds would be the main concern.
