Carmen Richardville, 93, of Princeton

Carmen Wilcox Richardville, age 93, of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at her home.
Carmen Wilcox Richardville, daughter of the late Frederick Mahlon and Lillian Watson Wilcox, was born July 20, 1930, in Kuttawa, KY. She was a graduate of Lyon County High School, Class of 1948, attended the University of KY, and graduated from Murray State University with an undergraduate degree in Home Economics and a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
She was married to George M. Richardville, of Vincennes, IN, and a veteran of the Korean War, for 62 years until his passing in 2014.
She began her teaching career at Dawson Springs High School and then taught kindergarten at St. Paul’s Catholic School in Princeton from 1962 until its closing in 1986. She also served several years as a school principal. Upon her retirement, she became one of the first docents at the Adsmore Museum when it opened in 1986. She loved history and storytelling and used her skills as a seamstress to create the extraordinary costumes worn by the docents. She guided tours at Adsmore for the next 25 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and was active in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, the KY Society of the DAR, and the Heartland Lace Making Guild. Her many hobbies included reading, cooking, sewing, knitting, lace making, and genealogy.
In addition to her parents, Carmen is preceded in death by one brother, Frank Wilcox.
Surviving is one son, George Frederick “Fred” Richardville (Lynn), Fredonia, KY; one daughter, Lucinda Richardville Krajsky (Ed), Jackson Hole, WY; two granddaughters, Carla Richardville Haynes (Carlos), White House, TN and Janey Richardville, Gallatin, TN; one grandson Wes Krajsky, Jackson Hole, WY; two great-grandsons, Jacob Haynes (Erin), Huntsville, AL, Nicholas Haynes (Kate), White House, TN and one step-granddaughter, Shelley Lynn White, Princeton, KY; one step-grandson, Lance White (Laura Lee); and one step great-granddaughter, Kylee White, Princeton, KY.
Visitation for Carmen Richardville will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Rosary services will follow at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph Jojy officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Catholic Church or Bright Life Farms.
