Marion Lisanby, 87, of Dawson Springs

Marion Wayne Lisanby, age 87, of Dawson Springs, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023, at his residence. Mr. Lisanby was born on September 7, 1935, in Caldwell County, to the late Albert Lisanby and Bertha Menser Lisanby. Wayne attended Dawson Springs High School and also earned a degree in education from Murray State College. He taught in several schools over the years and ended his career at Browning Springs School in Madisonville. After retiring he farmed for several years. He also served his country in the United States Army. Wayne was a member of Dawson Springs First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon from 1982-2016. He was a Sunday School teacher and also sang in the choir. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years ~ Frances Amos Lisanby of Dawson Springs; a sister ~ Phyllis Stallons of Hopkinsville, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lisanby is preceded in death by his parents; sisters ~ Nina Poole, Polly Mason, Cara Crator, Dean Kem, and Elaine Thomas; brothers ~ Rufus Lisanby and Howard Lisanby.
Visitation for Marion Wayne Lisanby will be on Monday, July 31, 2023, from 10:00 A.M until the 2:00 P.M. funeral hour at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, with Rev. Bobby Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Pallbearers will be Keith Dismang, Chad Hickerson, Matt Summers, Phil Newman, Colton Dismang, Caleb Hickerson, and Isaiah Abbott.
