Henry Named Caldwell High School Band Director

A familiar face is taking over as the newest Band Director at Caldwell County High School.

Caldwell County native Mason Henry is well-known in the community and in the program. In addition to being a former member of the band, he has served the past six years as the middle school director and assistant with the high school band.
He acknowledged the impact the Caldwell County Band of Pride has in his life and hopes to be able to have a positive effect on his current students.

Henry said he hopes to build interest in the program to former levels.

He realizes the reputation the local program has built over the years and wants current students to strive to reach that level.

Henry added he feels he’s learned a lot during his time at the middle school to prepare him to lead the high school program.

When Henry attended college at Murray State University, to obtain his Instrumental Music Education degree, he carried his love for music with him.

He understands his goals for the program will take time to accomplish desired results.

Henry graduated from Caldwell County in 2010 and Murray State University in 2015. He was a substitute teacher in Murray and on staff with the Murray High School band program for two years before returning to Caldwell County in 2017.
He is married to Rachel, who teaches at Caldwell County Primary School, and they have a son named Jude. The family attends Fredonia First Baptist Church.
In his free time, Henry enjoys playing in various musical venues, often playing at the Kentucky Opry in Draffenville.
