The annual Dotson Days celebration kicks off Thursday evening with the Community Disciples Awards Banquet at Northside Baptist Church followed by lots of family, fun activities throughout the weekend.

click to download audioOriginally known as Princeton High School in 1910, the school with over 200 students changed its name to Dotson High School in the 1920s.
In 1938, the Federal Works Progress Administration program approved the construction of a new 12-grade school that was completed in 1941. Dotson High School was destroyed by fire in 1968. In 1984, the property was leased to the city of Princeton for a park.
On Friday, Gray said they will have a back-to-school supply drive for grades K-12 at 3:00 p.m., along with youth activities like kickball and tug-of-war at 4:00 p.m. DJ in the Park will be from dusk until 10:00 Friday night.
Coming up on Saturday, the 3 on 3 youth tournament starts at 9:00 for grades 3-5 and 6-8, followed by the 5 on 5 tournament for ages 16 and up.
Soul in the Pocket is returning to Dotson Days and will begin their performance at 3:00 Saturday afternoon.
According to Gray, there are also a few more activities planned on Saturday and Sunday.
