A Marion man has been charged in connection to a hit and run that claimed the life of 18-year old Mercedeys Culligan of Calvert City Tuesday morning.
According to Calvert City Police, 45-year old Raymond E. Jarvis was taken into custody Thursday after an investigation into the fatal collision involving the teen. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid with death or serious physical injury.
Based on the police investigation, Jarvis was driving an SUV on Oak Park Boulevard shortly after 5:30 Tuesday morning when he allegedly struck Culligan who was walking near the southbound lane of the road on her way to work. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner’s Office.
