City Council Hears Exciting Economic Development Update


At Monday night’s Princeton City Council meeting, some exciting economic development updates were announced about new restaurants and other businesses that are coming to Princeton in the near future.
Planning Commission Administrator Jenny Clark, who is also with Economic Development, tells Your News Edge some new restaurants are moving into Princeton along with some other businesses.


click to download audioDuring her report, Clark also announced a couple of construction projects for a new medical supply business and new mini-storage units.

During the mayor’s comments, Brock Thomas said they had a great turnout for Dotson Days and the Jake Hodge Wiffle Ball Tournament this past weekend which brought a lot of visitors into the City of Princeton.
He also provided City Council with an update on the swimming pool’s diving board project at the City-County Park.


click to download audioIn new business, City Council unanimously approved a request from the Princeton Fire Department to declare a 2005 Ford Excursion with 141,081 miles as surplus property. Mayor Thomas said the vehicle was formerly used by Fire Chief Brent Francis and lately has been used as the Code Enforcement bus.

The next regularly scheduled Princeton City Council meeting will be Monday afternoon, August 21, at 5:00.
