A Princeton man was arrested on a warrant Friday charging him with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison reports 46-year old Billy Don Waynick was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant after officers conducted a traffic stop on Cadiz Road shortly after 3:15 Friday afternoon.
According to Allison, the warrant stems from an investigation that began on August 5, 2023, where Waynick was trying to sell a 2017 Nissan Maxima that was reported stolen from Memphis, Tennessee. Detectives reportedly recovered the vehicle in Waynick’s possession as well as a fictitious title.
During the traffic stop, Waynick was also charged with no insurance 2nd offense, no registration plates, and operating on a suspended license. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
