King Takes Over Caldwell Career Center Welding Program

As students entered the welding classroom at the Caldwell Regional Career Center Wednesday they were greeted by a new face.
While Tony King may be new to the welding program, the skill is not new to him, as he brings over 35 years of experience to the school. King, a graduate of Madisonville-North Hopkins High School, has been a lifelong resident of Madisonville.
He began welding as an apprentice in a radiator business where he worked for 9 years before starting welding school. He has also worked at Afco Manufacturing, the City of Madisonville, and working with coal mining equipment. He has also operated his own lawn care business since 1988.
King shared he has a desire to teach students this important skill.

He had nothing but praise for the facility where he will be teaching.

King is friends with former instructor Mickey Bayer and is aware of the accomplishments he had with the program.

Students can expect very few changes in the classroom.

He has some special interests and training he plans to share with the students during the year.

King invited the community to come and get to know him and gave some special thanks to those in his life.

King comes to the local career center after teaching welding at Hopkinsville Community College for soldiers stationed at Fort Campbell.
