KSP Searching For Hopkins County Escaped Inmate

Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville is looking for an inmate who escaped custody from a work release program Thursday afternoon.
Public Information Officer Trooper Ridge Porter reports the Hopkins County Detention Center contacted Post 2 about the escaped inmate just after 6:00 Thursday evening.
He says the initial investigation alleges that 41-year old Charles Woodward, of Madisonville, was assigned work release at Madisonville Tire and Retreading and was last seen around 3:00 Thursday afternoon.
Woodward is described as being 6’1″ tall, weighing 145 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair, and multiple tattoos on both arms. He was last seen wearing a gray Madisonville Tire uniform with gray pants and a white undershirt.
Woodward was reportedly serving a sentence for two counts of burglary and three counts of theft by unlawful taking.
Anyone with information about the location of Woodward is asked to call their local law enforcement or KSP Post 2 at (270) 676-3313.
The investigation is ongoing by state police.
