Gladys B. Sims, age 85, of Princeton, KY passed away August 19, 2023, at Baptist Health Paducah, KY.
Gladys was born on October 12, 1937, to the late John Dan and Charlie Elvira O’Hara Bumphus. She was a member of Spillman Chapel CME Church. Gladys loved the Lord, her family and singing in the choir. She retired from Arvin Industries.
She is survived by daughters, Trevor M. Martin (Dwight) of Princeton, KY, Rolanda Sims Howard of Louisville, KY, Twyla Sims Williams (Kenneth) of Gadsden, AL; sons, Twyman O. Sims of Farmington, MO and Timothy L. Sims of Princeton, KY; sisters, Lillian Harris of Princeton, KY , Ruth Ann McMullen of CA, Mary Shaw of Illinois, Catherine Mitchell (Thomas) of Illinois, Carletta Nelson of MO; brother, Anderson Bumphus of Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Sims, Jr.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters; three brothers.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm Friday, September 1, 2023, at Princeton First Global Methodist Church (formerly Princeton First United Methodist Church) located at 509 N. Seminary St., Princeton, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 1, 2023, at Princeton Global Methodist Church (formerly Princeton First United Methodist Church). Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
