Princeton Police Chief Chris King shared some safety precautions that the community needs to be aware of, as the 2023 Black Patch Festival takes over downtown Princeton this weekend.
Activities get kicked off Friday afternoon with the annual parade and he reminds everyone that children will be excited, so be sure to watch for them possibly running into the street.
King stressed that after the parade, motorists need to be patient and allow all entries to complete the route before leaving the area.
King added that on Saturday – there will be a large number of vehicles and pedestrians moving around Princeton. Several streets will be closed and drivers will be maneuvering around blocked-off sections of town and people will be walking in various places.
He encouraged everyone to be aware of people walking into the path of traffic without looking first.
The Black Patch Parade will be held Friday beginning at 5:00 PM with line up in the Butler parking lot beginning at 4:00. Several streets around the downtown area to remain closed the entire day, Saturday.
