Improvements continue to be made at the Caldwell County Airport thanks to funding through local, state, and federal means.
During the Princeton City Council Meeting last Tuesday, Mayor Brock Thomas read a report from Councilman Jim Joiner, who is also a member of the airport board on recent improvements made to the facility and grounds.
click to download audioEarlier this year, it was announced the initial phase for constructing new t-hangars will begin this year. Ten individual t-hangars are expected to be constructed at a cost of approximately $100,000 per hangar.
A new Virtower was installed in May that tracks the aircraft that land at the airport. Virtowers are used to monitor airport operational parameters including takeoffs, landings, touch and go’s, and pavement utilization.
Earlier this year, the airport installed a new beacon pole that was 100% funded by the Kentucky Department of Aviation.
