The 99th annual meeting of the Caldwell/Lyon Baptist Association was held Monday night at the Southside Baptist Church in Princeton.
Director of Missions Rick Reeder shared that the meeting was a time for the 38 churches in the association to come together and conduct business, receive reports, and hear great preaching.
The elected messengers from each church approved the resolutions presented and the budget for the upcoming year, plus a report from the nominating committee.
Justin Ramey was elected to serve as moderator, and Mark Faughn as vice-moderator for the new year.
A special memorial service was presented with a time for remembering individual church members who passed away during the past year.
Special messages were given by Mark Faughn, pastor of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, presenting the doctrinal sermon, and John Hagan, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, delivering the annual sermon.
Mt. Zion Baptist Church Pastor Mike Boyd enjoyed the time of fellowship with other Christians and honoring people who deserved recognition.
One of the highlights of the night was announcing the dedication of ‘The Reel and Plow.’ The publication is the annual report that is published each year with all the reports, minutes, and accomplishments reported at the associational meeting.
It also recognizes an individual or group that has been an important part of the association or an inspiration to the churches. Reeder announced that Bright Life Farms had been chosen to receive the honor this year.
Bright Life Farm Administrator Roberta Robertson said it was an honor for the residents to be recognized as Christians by the local churches.
We will share more from Bright Life Farms in a future newscast.
