The first week of autumn features some late summer-like temperatures with a slight chance of rain in sight before the weekend.
Weather Edge forecaster David Powell said the slowed movement of storms in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico is impacting our weather and keeping things dry.
Powell said the best chance of rain this week is late Wednesday and Thursday.
Rainfall totals for September are tracking about an inch below normal but rainfall year to date is about an inch-and-a-half above normal. Both the average temperature and rain for September aren’t expected to be classified as extreme in either direction when compared to years past, according to National Weather Service and Mesonet readings.
