A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has reopened a section of KY 1943 in northern Lyon County.
According to District 1 spokesman Keith Todd, KY 1943 has been closed at the 2-mile marker since July 17, to allow the construction of a new bridge over Crab Creek about 1/2 mile west of the KY 373 intersection.
Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this more than $1.49 million group bridge project that includes the construction of two bridges.
