Princeton/Caldwell County Trail of Tears Commission is inviting residents to a free event that promises to spotlight a local legend from all angles.
History buffs and folklore seekers of all ages are in for a treat this Friday, as author and historian Rick Gregory visits George Coon Public Library in downtown Princeton. Gregory will arrive with his new book, “The Bell Witch in Myth and Mystery”, in hand to offer inside details, memories and history behind the story. Books will be available for purchase at the free event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with book signings as well.
The Adams, Tennessee native will make the story come alive as he shares personal memories and details you’ve likely never heard and bridges the gap between real events, folklore and local legend.
The Trail of Tears Commission will be on hand with light refreshments and a membership table. The group meets bi-monthly at the Princeton Tourism Center in Princeton, joining together in hopes of conserving and documenting history, and invites anyone interested to join. The group encourages all ages to attend, as the event is not horror-themed, but historical in nature and will be appropriate for children.
Robert Ward from the Princeton/Caldwell County Trail of Tears Commission will be live on WPKY’s Coffee Talk this Friday morning at 8:15 a.m. to give details about the event, and history surrounding the story.
