A Princeton man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly fired a weapon in the direction of deputies responding to a domestic in progress in Caldwell County Wednesday night.
Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman and deputies were sent to the call at 3085 Sandlick Road at midnight. Upon arrival, Sheriff Weedman says the victim ran from the house and yelled that her husband had a gun. Deputies then took the victim to a safe place and returned to locate the suspect, 55-year old Dwayne Hale, but with no success.
According to the report, deputies went back to the home to deliver an Emergency Protective Order, but Hale refused to answer the door. Sheriff Weedman says at one point, Hale fired a gun in the direction of deputies. Deputies then forced their way into the residence and found Hale in the hallway, where he continued to resist arrest until a taser was used to subdue him and he was taken into custody.
Hale was charged with fourth-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer. He was lodged in Caldwell County Jail.
