During Monday night’s meeting, the Caldwell County school board approved a three-year agreement with Edulastic, along with creating a girls wrestling coach position and stipend.
According to Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach, Edulastic is a program that would provide teachers and students with more educational resources and allow teachers to track student’s progress academically.

In other action, Roach explained that the KHSAA made a change this year and sanctioned girls’ wrestling as its own program as girls were part of the boys’ team in the past. As a result, Dr. Roach wants to create a head coach position and stipend for a girls’ wrestling program in the district.

Board members also approved a change order for the bus charging infrastructure after Roach shared that this change is to purchase longer charging cables for the electric buses at the bus garage.

In addition, the board approved KETS first offer of assistance from the School Facilities Construction Commission in the amount of $19,117. Roach said this is normal assistance received by the district each year for technology infrastructure, with matching funds.
