Facilities and Transportation Director Dustin Cash provided the school board with an update on the sports practice facility and the greenhouse renovation project at Monday night’s meeting.
Cash told board members that he understands the sportsplex is a sensitive subject for some individuals, but he believes it is the best investment the school district has made due to the opportunities it offers students.
click to download audioHe stated that the white walls within the sports practice facility were being painted blue. Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach further explained that this change was implemented with the safety of students in mind.

click to download audioIn April, the Kentucky Department of Education granted permission to the school board to acquire the former bowling alley building for approximately $800,000. The intention behind this purchase was to repurpose the building as an indoor practice facility for the school district’s sports teams. Spanning approximately 18,000 square feet, the building sits on a 2-acre plot of land on Northfield Drive.
Furthermore, Cash provided an update on the greenhouse renovation project, stating that it’s scheduled to commence at the beginning of November.
