The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Eddyville Police Department are currently conducting investigations into multiple reports of prowler complaints and vehicle burglaries.
According to Sheriff Brent White, law enforcement started receiving reports of prowler complaints and vehicle burglaries around 2:45 Tuesday morning. Throughout the morning, numerous victims in the Eddyville area, as well as areas outside the city limits to the north of Eddyville, reported incidents of their parked vehicles being ransacked with guns, cash and various other items reported stolen. Additionally, a residential garage burglary was also reported.
Eddyville Police Chief Jordan Parrish and Sheriff White report nearly all of the vehicles were confirmed to have been unlocked and unattended in residential driveways when the crimes occurred. They reportedly have received information suggesting this may be a group of criminals operating in multiple counties in Western Kentucky. Law enforcement believes these crimes occurred between 12:45 and 3:45 Tuesday morning in Lyon County.
