A Florida man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly assaulted a female at a motel in Kuttawa.
Lyon County Sheriff Brent White says a deputy responded to a disturbance at a motel on Days Inn Drive around 1:00 Saturday morning.
An investigation reportedly revealed that 44-year old Gilbert Pires of Royal Palm Beach assaulted a female and attempted to flee the area. Sheriff White says the deputy located Pires and he was taken into custody.
Pires was lodged in the Crittenden County Jail on charges of fourth-degree assault and second-degree strangulation.
