The Kentucky Mesonet, operated by Western Kentucky University, is continuing to look for a Lyon County site.
Outreach Manager Shane Holinde tells Your News Edge they opened their 79th site, about six miles north of Lexington. He hopes the 80th site will be located in Lyon County.

click to download audioThe goal for the Kentucky Mesonet program is to have at least one site in each of the state’s 120 counties. Currently, there are 79 sites established, with some counties such as Breathitt, Fayette, Shelby, and Warren having more than one site.
