Caldwell County Schools Receives 2022-2023 Kentucky Assessment Data


Caldwell County Schools has received its 2022-2023 School Report Card from the Kentucky Department of Education that shows the results of the Kentucky Assessment testing taken by students at the elementary, middle and high schools in May of this year.
Overall, according to Lizzie Wynn, the public relations coordinator for the school district, Caldwell County Schools Content Area Performance Scores are higher in each content area than the statewide scores, except for Elementary Combined Writing and High School Reading. She states that the district’s test scores have improved compared to the previous school year. Caldwell County Elementary School has reportedly received a yellow rating, while the middle and high schools have received green ratings.
Wynn highlights that at Caldwell County High School, more than half of the student body population is enrolled in advanced courses such as Advanced Placement (AP) or Dual Credit classes provided by Madisonville Community College. Additionally, CCHS has achieved a high rate of postsecondary readiness, ensuring that students are prepared for both academic and career paths. Wynn also mentions that CCHS continues to maintain higher four and five-year graduation rates than the state average.
Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach said he is “very excited about he results of last year’s state assessment.” He emphasized that although being an overall green school district is commendable, what matters more is the growth they have achieved in nearly every indicator area. Dr. Roach acknowledged the dedication and hard work of their exceptional students and teachers, who strive for excellence in teaching and learning every day. He concluded by expressing his anticipation of seeing the district’s continued growth and the further success of their students.
